## Why it matters

The payment gateway decides how customers can pay online and how much the shop pays in fees. It also shows whether the shop targets the domestic market or customers abroad.

## In practice

An e-shop with GoPay or Comgate covers cards and instant bank payments for Slovak and Czech customers. A site with only PayPal loses customers who don't have a PayPal account. Stripe is preferred for international payments.
